How the ECI Duck Derby Race Works!
Step 1: Sponsor your duck
Sponsor online: Using the QR code in the image above or this link. ECI Duck Derby
Sponsor in person at ECI: Navigate your way to the ECI Duck Derby booth (Hint: Look for the duck banners and folks wearing duck Items).
Choose a duck or duck package to sponsor, contribute to the fundraiser, and then wait for the race to start.
Online, your receipt will show details of your sponsorship, and then you will receive an email with your duck numbers on it.
Step 2: Ducks away!
The race stars mid day Sunday, July 12th.
At the start of the race, the Duck Derby Crew releases all the sponsored ducks into the pool all at once, creating a wave of yellow.
If you are on site at ECI, come to the pool deck and cheer your duck on!
If you are online, follow Antioch Delta Skimmers on Facebook and Instagram to see the race live.
A recording of the race will also be posted on Instagram and Facebook after the ECI Event concludes.
Step 3: The race is on!
We have a fabulous group of volunteer propulsion engineers that prove waves for the ducks to ride and swim on toward the finish line.
The propulsion experts use kickboards to propel the water, guiding the ducks forward. As the lanes narrow, the propulsion experts fold in behind one another, continuing to wave the ducks toward the finish line, until the winners emerge.
No human touch is allowed on the ducks to assist - only wave propulsion.
If a duck jumps the lane line, they are out of the race. If a human touches the duck, it is out of the race.
Step 4: Winners emerge!
The first 10 ducks to cross the finish line win fantastic prizes for their sponsors!
You do not need to be present to win!
We will call you if you win and ensure your prize gets to you.
Every duck sponsorship funds the opportunity for more kids in the East Bay to have access to swim. All proceeds go to the ADS Swim team to help keep swim fees lower and allow for more kids to join swim clinics and the swim team.
"A Lone Duck"
Single Duck Sponsorship $5.00
This gets you one single duck to paddle in the race for you.
"The Quack Pack"
6 Ducks for the price of 5 $25 - No duck swims alone; you could have a small family of ducks swim for you.
" A Quackers Dozen"
13 ducks - $50. This gets you more ducks paddling in the race.
"A Flock"
Get noticed and have a true Flock (28 ducks) paddling for you in the race for you, plus you also get two lucky duck scratch-off tickets.

by visiting the Duck Derby Booth on site at the 49th Annual East County Invitational Swim Meet held July 11th & 12th, 2026, in Antioch, CA.
Duck sponsorships close at 11:30 AM on Sunday, July 12th, 2026.
Then the fun begins, as the Duck Derby crew gathers the ducks and transports them to the pool for the race!
