Frequently asked questions

It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. As a small business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence.

Do we actually race the ducks at ECI?

You will not physically race your duck. Your duck has a number on the bottom of it. All sponsored ducks are placed in the same 1-2 official race bins, then dumped into the pool together at the start of the race.

When the duck crosses the finish line, the announcer will announce the winning duck numbers.

How do I know what my duck numbers are? I purchased online and will not be at the race in person. ?

When you purchase your duck sponsorship online, you will receive an email receipt for your purchase.  It will have a ticket attached with details about the race.

If you are not at the race, you can do one of two things:

1) Reply to that email asking for your duck numbers to be sent to you

2) Wait 24 hours, and someone will contact you to provide your duck numbers to you.

How do I know which duck(s) are mine if I bought online before I got to ECI??

Show your purchase receipt to the crew on site at the ECI Duck Derby Table, and they will get your ducks for you.

If you purchased online before the event date, there will be a bag waiting for you with your name and duck sponsorship numbers.

You will then have a written list of sponsored duck numbers to keep with you, and you will be asked to dump your lucky sponsorship ducks into the official Race Duck Bin so they can get ready to race on Sunday.

Can I pick my own ducks to race?

Yes and No,

For fairness in the race, all ducks are the same size, shape, and color.  Once you pay for your sponsorship, a Duck Derby crew member will allow you to search our duck sponsorship bin for your lucky duck or ducks to enter into the race.

You will then log your duck numbers with the Duck Derby Racing crew and place your ducks in the Official Duck Derby race bin so they can prepare for the race.

Are the ducks real?

No, the ducks are 2" yellow rubber ducks.

Can I donate more to the cause?

Of course - ask a Duck Derby Crew member how to donate to the ADS team to support swimming for East County Youth.

Do I get to keep my duck?

No, the ducks stay with the larger event flock after the race. If you wish to purchase your own unique souvenir duck, you can do that at the duck derby booth as well; we have lots to choose from.

How do I know if my duck won?

Winning duck numbers are announced by the ECI meet host very quickly after the event, and then the winning duck numbers are also posted at the Duck Derby table after the event.

Don't worry if you win and miss picking up your prize, we will contact you.

Do I have to provide my contact information to win a prize?

If you plan to be on site and present at ECI until after the Duck Derby is over, you do not have to provide contact information, as you can come by in person and grab your prize if you win.

If you do not plan to be present, then we will need either an email or a phone number to contact you to inform you that you have won a prize and arrange for prize pickup or delivery.

If I win a cash prize and I want to donate it back to the team can I?

Of course, the ADS swim team always appreciates contributions from donors. Speak to the Duck Derby Crew, and they will ensure an ADS swim board member gets in touch with you about the donation.

Where do the proceeds go?

The proceeds from this fundraiser go to support Antioch Delta Skimmers swim team.
